I just picked up this large anemone at my lfs. It is very healthy and my pair of true perc's are as happy as can be. I have heard they(ritteri) are rather hard to keep in captivity for any length of time. I have the right lighting and water flow. Has anyone been able to keep this sp. for any great length, 1+ years? And if so what do you do to feed it?

I have one for almost three years now, inhabited by 3 skunk clowns. I don't feed the anemone directly, but feed the tank itself quite heavily.
It has gotten very large--1'+ in diameter--and lives high up in the tank on the back wall, almost directly in front of a return. One word of caution: it will sting--and likely kill--most sps corals with which it comes in contact. George |
