fiber optic creature
Last week I bought a rock of ricordea (sp) mushrooms. There's a samll sponge on the back and also some strange filter feeder type creatures. They are similar to the little feather on live rock, but their filters are like clear fiber optic cabe- they shine different colors of light- really bright reds, oranges, blues and purples. They also seem to have thicker that are tan and brown and a couple have long thread-like wormy arms that come out and scout the rock's surface. Have you seen these? Is there anything I should know? Oh- the mushrooms are doing well- any comments on those?
Thanks for the help, Marsey |

I have some of the same creatures on my Flower Pot coral base and on a mushroom rock. The filaments are straight and look like glass or plastic. They appear multi-colored.
I've always though it was some sort of Feather Duster, but I don't know how they feed. |
