I have tried some, and I have had experience with others who have tried some and IMO the only sure fire way to get rid of nitrates is water changes. A properly functioning sand bed and paying close attention to nutrient import and export will prevent nitrates from accumilating. All the nitrate sponges and miracle products are just a temporary fix and will not help correct the problem. HTH

About a year ago I used AZNO3 with very good success. It was a sort of last ditch effort before finally biting the bullet and adding more LR, increasing the sand bed and removing the bioballs.

I don't advocate the use of any kind of chemical or other "media" to fix a problem in a tank. It may work temporarily, but you will continue to have nitrate problems untill you find and fix the source of the problem. This could be anything from over feeding to inadequate biological filtration (Sand bed too fine and/or not deep enough, not enough live rock, etc.) I would perform regular water changes while searching for the cause of the problem. Treat the problem at it's source and you won't have to rely on temporary methods.

Andrew
