False percs and bubble coral

Heya,

Just wondering if a false perc clown will use my bubble coral for its home. The coral is about 6 inches in diameter when fully expanded. Thanks for any info!

Mine never did. I would think the bubble might not like them swimming in and around it.........Frogspawns worked good for mine. The corals didn't mind and the fish loved em.

Yea, I thought as much. Every time my cleaner shrimp or another animal hops on to one of the bubbles, it shrinks down . I'll look into the frogspawn. Do you happen to know the water, light, and feeding requirements of them? Thanks

PS. My yellow watchman goby has made my open green brain his home! He sits on it all day, surveying his little plot

Lighting needs should be the same as the Bubble

Low to moderate lighting, gentle alternating current.

For what it's worth I have large BTA in reef and pair of oscellaris won't go near it. According to Wilkerson BTA does not host oscellaris in wild but may in captivity. I have many other inviting corals I thought clowns might adopt including huge euphyllia torch and anemone-like yellow sarcophyton, clowns ignore them too. Of all things they have taken up residence on and under large sps "plate" coral I have not yet identified and spend hours each day rubbing against it's hard and essentially barren surface. Some peoples kids...

Dude, those are some really nice pics Doug. What kind of Carmera did you use for that? Looks like some national geographic
material.

Also, I just read about some Frogspawns. They are coral? Are there
other types of anemone's which will host a false perc? I don't have
enough lighting to house Coral. The web page said FSpawns are a
pretty hardy group. But I wasnt sure if I needed more lights than
what's in there already.

BlueWater; Its a not to expensive Kodak DC200 Plus.

That bubble is over 8 years old. The orange skunk clowns have been in there for over a year and the blue striped cinnamons for 6 months. They all get along fine and the bubble is not bothered by them in the least. They do wallow in it also, as seen in the smaller pic. Thats the male cinnamon, peeking at me, while taking his pic.

A bubble coral, if started when small, under lower lighting, should do fine. Mine, however, being use to halides, does better the more light it recieves.

They absolutely hate much current and expand much better in low current. They also love to EAT.
