I got alk reading of 6.5, is this good or bad?

whats your calcium level at, as well as your Ph? what supplements are you using as far as Ca/Alk? cheers, Joe |

pH is around 8.2, calcium level is at 370 or so. I haven't been able to raise it with regular kalkwasser dosing.

And, you wont be able to raise it.
You need to get something like ESV's Bionis buffer ( 2 part) add the 2 components slowly tell you find the right amount to maintain the disired level (CA=450/Alk=3.5[dkh=11-13]) |

Let's make sure we've got the units right. I see on another board that the units under discussion from your question are meq/L, not mg/L.
Some people (and some test kits) do measure alkalinity in units of mg/L calcium carbonate equivalent. In that case, your numbers are very low. Since they very likely are meq/L, we should just make that clear to anyone else reading this thread.
