Hi guys i really like this coral shes a beauty its called medusa in eric book practical guide to corals i dont see this coral very often in the wild ive only found one patch and its not actually on the reef ive found these corals on the mud flats on the way to the reef on very low tides they can be totally exposed to the elements but they totally close up . They really have roots that grow down into the mud to stabilize them in strong tides this one in the pic i have had for about 18 months and is very active and happy they tend to open at night and stay open till about mid morning closing all day then opening up in the afternoon i have found that i have never seen one open during the dayin the wild .
Does anyone here keep them ime a bit curious cause ive never seen one on any off the boards or forums . could they be a rarer type off coral . Thanks for the help ![]() |
