Angry In need of some HELP

Ok my problem is athpias (sp?) ROCK ANEMONES! I can not seem to get rid of them! I have tried to shoot them with hot water! I have tried to pick them out! Can anyone tell me of a better way! They are taking over my 7gal nano tank! I have found a few in my 180 also. If anyone can help please do tell me what you did to get rid of these little monsters!

Thanks,

I've only had one. I injected it with calcium and haven't had anymore so far.

controlling/eliminating Aiptasia

Some excellent links/reading provided by Joaco

http://www.wyx.com/iheo/tank/aiptasia.htm

My prefered method:

1. Get some Kalkwasser, shake up reall well, and boil a cup or two

2. Draw some into a syringe/turkey baster (syringe enables a better targeting method) Make sure you get the WHITE pasty part and make sure that the kalk paste is still fairly Hot!

3. Slowly and very steadily (so as to not let the aiptasia know you are coming) inject some of the hot kalk paste near the mouth of the aiptasia

4. Wait for a few minutes and the aiptasia will shrivel up and you can suck it out with a turkey baster.

Hey thanks guys! I forgot about Jacos site! I will check it out!

Scuba I will try your way to night also. I have a bottle/jar of kalk that I never opened. I guess now is the time!

Thanks,

Send a message via ICQ to JennM
If you don't feel like nuking your small tank with kalkwasser, and possibly messing with alk levels, buy a couple of Peppermint Shrimps!

The aiptasia won't disappear overnight, but they WILL disappear.
