Mikeman,
I usually place a mated pair in all systems that I set up, and I have never had a problem. But hey, there are no absolutes. HTH.

They are one of my favorite inverts and I've them in 4 or 5 different reef tanks. I've never seen them bother a thing.

I love coral banded shrimps, when my new tank is cycled Im gonna try to get a pair. Also they are the natural cleaner shrimps of yellow tangs in the wild. I have one in a 10 and it is fun to watch all his legs catch food and shove it in his mouth.

IMO, I would only keep a coral banded shrimp in a FO tank with large fish.

Coral banded shrimp readily eat beneficial worms from the sand bed, generally do not get along with other shrimp, may catch and eat small or sick fish, may pull hermits out of their shells, and are known to rip corals/anemones to get at ingested food. As with other species, you mileage may vary among individuals.
