Unhappy Anemone sucked into PH -- help!

I rearranged my LR today on a whim... Everything looks great. But: A few hours after that, my Sebae must have wandered around and was sucked into a PH (Maxi 1200). I removed the "grate" from the PH, then as carefully as I could, removed the anemone from the grate. It did lose a couple of tentacles in the process

It appears to be alive, but not doing too well. It's almost all the way closed up. My clowns look sad.

What are it's chances of survival? Is there anything I can do to increase them?

Any and all advice or ideas would be appreciated...

Rob

Actually if it just lost a few of it's tentacles it should make it. Damage to the foot or oral disk would be much more severe.

I would just keep my fingers crossed and cover all the powerheads with a sponge prefilter to keep something like this from happening again.

FWIW, Nathan

Thanks for the advice. This morning it was looking much better than yesterday. Once I removed it from the PH, it was balled up incredibly small. Now it is opening up again -- my clowns look happier and are playing in the anemone.

I'll up the feeding schedule (I've been feeding Krill and Silversides, along with any brine it happens to catch -- any other suggestions?).

As far as sponge covering the PHs, does anyone sell such a product? It would be an easy DIY, obviously, but what kind of sponge cover should I use? Filter material from my FW tanks? Generic sponge that I can purchase at the grocery store?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

You can get the sponge prefilters at priemum aquatics for 6 bucks for a 2 pack.

NEVER use sponges from the grocery store!! They could contain soaps or other harmful "things" in them...just a little FYI

pre-filters have been order for the maxi-jets... Thanks for the advice.

And FYI, the anemone is looking much better as of this morning... Pretty much fully open. It's hiding under a ledge in a little cave, but it looks like it's going to make it.

You're lucky. 2 days after I bought my first long tentacle anemone...
I wake up to a cloudy tank the sound of a dying car engine, and 1/4 of my anemone caught in the powerhead. It didnt make it
