hey you guys, there is a smaller species of CB shrimp out there called the blue legged and the blue heart banded shrimp. it just looks like a regular CB shrimp but if you look closely, it has light blue legs and the other has a blue chest or body. this type of shimp is not aggressive to other fish but will still kill each other if given a chance. it sometimes clean my emperor angel. i had this for 3 mos. now and hasnt had any problems with it, unlike the regular CB shrimp which was way too aggresive. JME.
by the way, it only grows half the size from a regular CB shrimp ![]() |

nah dont have a pic, it just looks like a regular CB shrimp but with bluish legs. The other one which has a blue body is more expensive coz its rarer. maybe other people have it but dont know that its a different kind.

The only way we will see these is if they show up by accident. I think someone would be in trouble if he ordered CBS from the phillipines rather than cheaper carribean varities. One thing they would have to be really special to sell. John Hoover in his book, Hawaii's Sea Creatures, has a second species of Stenopus.
Stenopus pyrsonotus might be the Indo-pacific version of the gold banded coral shrimp found in florida. Did an internet search and found that the gold banded shrimp might be the critter. Stenopus cyanoscelis is called the blue legged CBS at least by the germans and is found in the phillipines. Fairly new official record too according to a phillipine museum site. Thought you might like the museum link see http://members.tripod.com/philmuseum/zoology.htm They might be able to help with ID's if you can send presevered material with localilty.
