I want to add an inch of live sand over my existing 3" sand bed. How do I get the sand in the areas that are covered by the liverock? In the open area, I plan on scooping the sand with a cup and adding it that way. Any suggestions?

i dont really see a way unless you were to move the live rock them pour it then place the rock back. in my old tank i used to just add around it and the sand will travel to low spots or by curents or crabs. good luck

I have to agree w/ Naser. I don't see how you'd do it short of pulling the LR out. Last time I added LS I used a plastic tube to get into areas between the LR that were tight. Kinda like a large pipette. Worked well. HTH

we should make a sand pump. you know how the cement sinks so the pump more in to lift it. we should get the same deal to pump sand under our reefs. probably make everything fall or become unstable though. still cool if it worked nice
