painting in house and tank....
Hello.. I am about to do some small repairs in my house.. (nail pops and cracks in walls) and was wondering what precautions to take with my tank… I will be doing some touch ups with plaster and paint… the paint is water soluble .. and I had seen somewhere a posting in this regard… I am not painting the entire house..just here and there repairs..
But I want my guys to be safe so I turn to the experts.. you… I have a 55 gal reef tank..with inverts and fish and corals..(soft and hard) Any suggestions are appreciated.. Thanks.. See ya on the reef… |

you should be fine. i painted my entire room were the tank sits and it was fine so i assume a little bit of paint cant hurt.. just keep things ventilated.

SHouldn't have anything to worry about. But, if youa re worried, just get some bath towels and drape them over the tops of the tank and sump (turn off skimmer if you can't cover air intake, wherever it is) . that'll do the trick if one in fact, needed to be performed. I've dont that when bug-bombing in my house with NO fatalities (I did use two or three layers of towels too though) so , If you want to take precautions, take those, but I bet you'll be fine. HTH
