Unhappy Porities has black tips? :(

I know this is not good. It has developed a few (3-4) black tips over the past month to month and a half. I have him placed half way up under 315 watt VHO with moderate/high current. Been feeding DT's phyto usually everynight. Water is good. It has been atleast 4 weeks since I moved him hoping more current and light would help, think I should put him in a deeper spot or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really like him and would hate to see him die. Does anyone have one? Where did you place yours?
Thanks in advance,

SHOG, I have a yellow porites that I have sitting up near the top of my tank. I rotate it's position about once a week to be sure all portions of it are getting enough light and flow. I have it under 300 watts of PC's in a 75 gallon. Are the tips on yours actually black or do they have a brown jelly-like substance on them? Mine fell once and had brown jelly disease on a couple of the tips and I dipped it in an iodine bath per A. Thiel's website. The polyps on my porites never come out during the day, only at night, right after the lights turn off. I have a pretty heavy load in my tank, and there is always lots of stuff to eat in the water. That's all I can really tell you. HTH

VP,
Thanks for the reply. It does have a few jelly looking spots on it. They are mainly on the bottom edges though. They have been there as long a I can remember. Those parts don't see very much light "unless I put it up side down" I am gonna try to move it to a higher spot closer to he lighting.
