Starfish Identification
I need help identifing a starfish. I know its from the carrabien or atleast the LFS said it was. It is a dark green with orange bumps and what appeared to be orange tennicales on the legs. It is similar to a Linka style of starfish in apperance.
What is it? Is it reef safe? Hardy? The LFS is clueless as to what it is

Paul, how many legs does it have? Just make sure it not a "crown of thorns." That would be fairly obvious though. If it's a "brittle star," you'd probably be safe, but there's lots of "sea stars" that are NOT reef safe. Big difference in starfish and sea stars. If you've got corals yet, be sure you know what he is, before you put him in there. I know, I know... that's why ya asked, right? Have books, will travel
I'll bring them to the meeting if you're planning on being there Saturday. Lots of starfish, and sea star I.D.'s in them, maybe we can find it.Later Gator, and don't buy that star 'til ya know what it is! Hugs, C- |
