    Mobile homes

I will be moving in a few weeks into a mobile home(trailer) and am concerned with the weight of my 90 gallon tank being to much for the floor to withstand. I currently have about 150 lbs of LR. I figure with water and LR I will have around a 1000 lbs. Anyone live in a mobile home with a tank of this size or larger??? I am affraid that I may have to downsize till I can reinforce the floor. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Anyone in the Metro Detroit area interested in purchasing a 90 gallon tank w/ back left bottom corner drilled. Homeade stand included. Best offer. Contact me at : imgeorgeglass@hotmail.com

    Smile Hi George

I would think that you could keep and setup your tank in the MH worst case scenario you would have to make some sort of support platform....I have a 90gal right now so im gonna assume your tank is 4' long. I would look underneath the mobile home and see where the trusses (crossmembers) are and see how far apart they are from each other....if they are less then 4' apart from each other then I dont see a problem with you setting up your tank w/out any modifications....theres one way to test it....get about 5-6 (150-200lbs each) ppl over your mobile home and have them all stand in the spot you want to put the tank...you can even all bounce a little bit....and if you fall through the floor then I wouldnt put the tank there....

    Good Luck!

    Hi George

If you can contact the manufacturer, they should be able to tell you how much weight /sq.ft. the floor will support.

What type of trailer are you moving too? Is it a camp ground model (like those Jayco things with the slide outs) Or is it a park model? I know someone who lives in a park model and has a reef tank, very nice one too, I cant remember size exactly but it was either a 75 or a 90. I would check with the manufactor before you sell your set up.
I have the mind of a 5 year old and own a fire extinquisher you cant imagine the things i do.

I have a 55 and a 29 on the same wall in my trailer they are on the same wall running from front to the back. I would not put one on the out side wall this is the weakest part of a trailer. There is 2 steel frames that run the full length of the trailer so if you put it in the middle it sould be just fine.My trailer is a 16by84 so you would put it somewhere in the middel of the 16" you are fine. If you do not think it would hold just go under the trailer you should see where they blocked it up and just put somemore blocks in line with where they put them under the frame.
