What do I need to keep successful Peppermint Shrimp?

Do I need to measure/add anything extra to keep a Peppermint?
Right now I test PH, Salinity, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia. Some
people say I need iodine, some say I don't. Any opinions?

Thnx

If you are doing reg. wtr. chgs. your iodine levels should be fine. I do not add any supplements to my tank. I presently have 3 Pep. Shrimp and they are all doing fine. IMO you should not add supplements without testing the levels before anyway. I do test for Iodine, but just because I have the kit and the level is always fine. Personally I prefer to do a wtr. chg. to replenish trace elements than to add supplements.

I agree about adding iodide . I have found that mine do very well with routine water changes , good calcium levels and feedings of brine shrimp. I have noticed that the heavier I feed the shrimp the shrimp the more frequently they molt .

I do a 20% water change every week with distilled salt water.
Im wondering if I should go out and spend the 10 bucks for the iodine
test kit. I met some people who also said that they don't add it.

I'm worried about the molting process because I had a cleaner crew of
crabs in there. They all molted and died within a month.
