I notice my Emerald Crab sleeps and hangs out at the
foot and under the umbrella of my BTA. He doesn't pick at it or anything.
Just uses it for housing pretty much. Is this normal?

I wish my emeralds did that! sounds interesting. I'm not sure if it's normal, but my emerald crabs have been VERY reef safe (I havn't seen them touch any corals or anemone) so I think you're ok here.

My emerald hangs out at the base of a large colony of yellow polyps. Totally ignored them for the first six months but now I never need to look anywhere else to find him. I noticed he started doing it after a lawnmower blenny took over his favorite cave.
i was just on here researching the same thing. I have 2 emeralds and i added the anenome a few days ago. One of the emeralds has really fallen in love with the anenome, always hanging out right next to it and hiding under its mantle. It's pretty cool to watch.
