Long Time Away!!

Hi Everyone! Well my name is Johnny for those who do not know me! I just put up a 80 gallon reef tank after tearing down my 72 bow front because of a bad leak and my son now has it.

My new tank has a DSB of 5-6" and 120lbs of Figi and 25lbs of Tonga Rock. I have alot of water current and a Remora Pro Hang-on skimmer.

Inhabitants:
Fish: bonded pair of maroon clowns
banggai cardinal fish
Magneta dottyback
Sharpnosed puffer
2 Gobies
Coral: 2 Xiena's(Waving Coral large)
2 gorgonians(1 red/yellow polyps)(1 purple/purple polyps)
1 Fire coral
Inverts: 1 large green brittle star
1 blue linckia star fish
1 left handed hermit
1 blue hermit
25 snails(different species)

My tank is 10 months old and is a fairly aggressive tank. I have PC lighting and HO lighting and in early stages of upgrading to 2 MH 400ww 6500k and 2 110 VHO acitinics 03.

Future Plans: More different type corals and a couple of clams.

I know there will be some concern among you about a puffer with corals. At this point no problems with inverts or corals but will be watched closely as I add corals. My fire coral is well isolated from other corals and no problem so far. My green brittle star is well fed with raw shrimp, scallop and clam with an occasional spirulina disc(100% vegetable meal) and no fish lost or invert loss.

Just an update on my new system and glad to be back! Johnny

I have 2 400watt MH & 2 48" Vhos on my tank in an open hood... I use 1 7.5" clip on fan I got at target.. My temp never goes above 83.. I replace about 3-5gals of water a day from evaporation..
