Unknown Crab Help!!!!!!!!!!
Hey all I have a crab in my Live Rock, it is black and has white at its joints, and hides in the holes in my Live Rock. Any Idea of what kind of crab it could and if I need to try and get it out. I hope it is reef safe because it is in a huge rock with corals on it and would be hard to get out. Thanks

Red eyes? Pretty squat? Broad body and fat little arms and claws? If so, sounds like you probably have a rock crab of somekind. Generally harmless, will do some rearranging of your small rocks and shells on the bottom in an attempt to build itself a home usually. I kept mine, most people kill theirs. I've yet to have a problem with it though, but I would think they get kind of large..mine is about 1" in size.
Keep and eye on it, if it gets too rowdy kick it out. ![]() |

I have one also, but it's brown and about 2" in size
I'm going to post a pic later. I saw it one night when the lights went out. Scared the crap out of me. The reef seems fine and all the corals are still intact, but I have noticed alot of empty snail shells and half eaten hermits. It must've hitched in with some LR.h

Eventually it will become a problem. Count on it.
