Golden Pearls
I know a lot of you use 'em as filter feeder fodder, but anybody tried them as larvae diet? Do they really stay suspended in water column as advertised? How do they come, frozen? Freeze dried? I want to try this stuff but would like to know what to expect. Also could use a recomendation for source. As always, TIA for your help.

You can get them at www.brineshrimpdirect.com. Very good, prompt service there.
I think they are freeze-dried, but I keep them in the fridge anyway just in case. They are certainly not frozen. They do stay suspended in the water column pretty well. HTH, Rob |

Re: Golden Pearls
I use GP's, my SPS love them! the other corals as well. I order from Brine Shrimp Direct too. Very good service!!!! I mix DTs with the Golden Pearls. I feed at night, about 3 times a week. I was thinking about putting them in the freezer. I guess I will for freashness. When buy live Brine Shrimp from my LFS, I feed the Shrimp the GPs too. I like the GPs because a little bit goes a long way. You can get them in different micro sizes. Call Brine Shrimp Direct they are very helpful.

I have the rotifer size, and it basically looks like a bag of redish powder.

I have the .2 Micro Rotifer size. I had .1. It comes as tiny as powder form. Mine came in the same foil like pouch. It really is a great source of Protein for all the Corals. They absolutly love them Golden Pearls.

I have a 40gal Reef. I feed 3 times a week. I put about 1/4 of a tsp and 2-capfuls of Dts, swirl it around and add a little bit of Aquarium water to the mixture. This Mixture will last a little over a week. I put in about a tsp at night. The Golden Pearls come in Micro sizes 100 -200, 300-400, being almost like powder. I use the 100-200 size. Golden Pearls are high in Protein. My SPS really extend their polyps when I feed them. All of the Filter feeders, Soft Corals love GPs too. Just remeber a little bit goes a long way. Sue T is a friend of mine and I gave her some to try. She liked the GPs too. Hope you try them

I had wanted to try the Golden Pearls as everyone using them seemed to like the results. hreef gave me 2 tubes of them and after trying different mixtures, last night I finally got what I think was a good mix as my corals went crazy. I used 1/2 the DT's recommended dose and 2 1/8tsp. and mixed with some tank water and mixed this for awhile and the added in in a high current area. WOW... What a noticeable difference, the feeding filaments on my sps extended as I have never seem before. Now if I can figure out how many times a week to do this I'll be happy too.
