Lobo Brain coral

I bought a brain that looked really good last week. I looked it over and saw no damage. I think when they bagged it up they mashed on the corner. It looks like a tumb print that mashed really hard. A few days later the skeleton was showing through in that area. Now it looks like there is this white stuff on it that looks kind of like a sponge. The rest of the brain is swelling very nicely. But the damaged area looks to be getting bigger. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from dying off anymore?
I just looked at it and the white stuff seems to have dissapeared but the skeleton seems to be showing through more.
