MAke - up Water Containers
What is the best container for holding make -up water. I am using a brand new garbage pail rinsed out before I use it. The water when sitting in there seems to develope a stink of some kind. Is it the container I am using ? TIA

You're probably looking for something bigger, but I like using my old 5g salt buckets.

I use a large 55 gallon plastic garbage can for my water. I have never had any problems with water going bad. Are you using a powerhead or anything to circulate your water? If the water is not circulating it could be going stagnant.

If you are serious of keeping the water in perfect condition. Then it should be stored in a sealed container made from ngalene (spelling might be off). The name Carboy also applies to these and are available, a bit pricey, at places such as Fisher science supply or Carolina biological Supply Co.
