I've been wondering why caulerpa goes sexual? And what exactly does it mean? I've had mine die off like this and was curious how it turns so fast? Please explain this to me. Thanks
By the way, anyone have a blue mushroom that they would sell at a decent price? Thanks |

Feel lucky, caulerpa is the DEVIL. It attaches to your rock with holdfasts and no matter how hard you rip it out, new stuff will grow back, it will cover your corals, suck up your nutrients that you want, it is evil.
Well, back to the question. Fluctuating temperatures will do it, so will high temps. As will fluctuating pH's. Buba |

To reproduce. And what exactly does it mean? It means the caulerpa flooded your tank with spores. I've had mine die off like this and was curious how it turns so fast? Think of salmon spawning and dying, or of a female octopus laying eggs and then dying. Ninong ------------------ Irrational Exuberance! |
