where to buy books?
I am looking for a few books. One I am really interested in is Corals of Australia & the Indo Pacific, by J.E.N. Veron. Does anyone know of good places online to buy books at resonable prices.

Amazon.com is a good store for books and a whole lot of other things too!
I have ordered from them and have never had a problem with delivery or anything. HTH ![]() |

Hi Rhonda,
Instead of Corals of Australia and the Indo-Pacific, which was published in 1986, I would recommend Dr. Veron's much more comprehensive work, Corals of the World, which completely replaces the earlier single volume work. Read about it here: http://www.aims.gov.au/pages/coralsworld/cotw-03.html The complete 3-volume set of Corals of the World runs $119.99 here: http://www.aquatictech.com/books.html If you still want Corals of Australia and the Indo-Pacific, it is available there for $79.99. I have Corals of the World and highly recommend it, but not as a first set. Before spending that kind of money, you should already have Eric Borneman's Aquarium Corals, which is only $34.99 (hardcover) at the same source and either Delbeek & Sprung's The Reef Aquarium, Volumes 1 & 2 or Fossa & Nilsen's The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium, Volumes 1, 2 & 3. I have both of these sets and prefer the Fossa & Nilsen books to the Delbeek & Sprung. Another good book to consider because of the excellent treatment of fish would be Robert Fenner's The Conscientious Marine Aquarist. Also, consider getting Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfishes. I have found that it pays to shop around for the best price before ordering books. I have ordered from Aquatic Technology but I have also ordered from Marine Depot, Jeff's Exotic Fish, Premium Aquatics, Alldirect.com, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, and directly from the publisher, AIMS, in the case of Corals of the World--but that was in advance of the publication when it was available for about half of what it is selling for now. Thanks so much
for all the info. I had been thinking about getting Corals of the world. I had some people tell me to get Corals of Australia and Indo Pacific. When I looked it up I did notice it was fairly old to be a coral but. I actually did wander why some people still recommend that book. So I thought I would check. I trust your judgement as I have been reading here for a long time. I will check out the other books also.

If you go to amazon, be sure to check on a used copy of the book. I have saved almost $100 on three books doing this.
