Question is a powerhead 201 overkill for a 3 gallon tank?

I am just worreid about not enough flow because i have some fungus growing on my rock. THere is a filter in the tank that runs at 35 gph but dont create much current. Would the 201 work or would it just stir everything up in my tank? Would i have to put some kind of diffuser on the output to lessen the current it puts out and if so how would you reccomend making a diffuser?

Thanks

Andy

Yeah, my tank smells like dead fish. I am curing the live rock, my ammonia is going down and my nitrate and nitrite are skyrocketing, which i assume is normal. SO this white crap will go away after the rock cycles or should i get rid of it?
