Just in case anyone cares...
I posted a week ago about my Deep Six hydrometer reading 1.026 (What I like to keep my salinity at) at 79 degrees and a Seatest reading 1.030 (Way too high). I got my refractometer yesterday (AWESOME!!!!) and the Deep Six was right on the money -- 1.026 exactly. Seatest was way off. Good news: That means my tank has not been at 1.030 for about six months -- I was really worried about that. Rob |

This is why refractors are good. But if you know someone with a refractor ...then you can calibrate your hydrometer every few mo. otherwise I would always have one . I've had the same brand hydrometer off alot JME

Where did you get your refractor from? Which one is the refractor? I have been using a hydrometer since the begining... Thanks!

I got it from www.northcoastmarines.com They have 'em for $70 which is a mighty good deal.
The peace of mind is well worth the cost... |
