Has anyone out there used the "pad" style phosphate sponge? I'm talking about those white cartridge type things. Has anyone had any luck with them? are they effective? I've used the kent phosphate sponge which worked fairly well, but it's a huge pain to find a place for the sponge without making something overflow. The pads seem like they would be easy to fit in a place of high current. I'm just not sure if they work. Anyone have an opinion on these? gracias.

I've been running a poly filter for about 2 days now. It hasn't affected the phosphate level yet. How much phosphate did yours remove when you had it? I've also been running a refugium for about 2 weeks now which has a lot of macro algea in it, but it hasn't seemed to help lower phosphates either. Hopefully it will in time.

Brian,
I've excellent results with SeaChems Phosgaurd. I mix it 50/50 with carbon and change the bag (about 4 oz) every 2 weeks or so. |
