IPSF or what?
My refuigum is over run with green hair algea and need to clean it up. I was just looking at IPSF and only got confused - too many choices. The main is 18 months old now. I added the 20 gal. refuigum about 6 months ago by just putting in LS(store bought in a bag) at 4", a 10 lb. LR and some caulerpa, and a 65w LOA(8 hrs only).
I think I need some pods and other critters to keep the ref. clean. The caulerpa is for....... anyway, what should I get besides the $99 package when I already have the caulerpa? The main is 100 gal. with 2 med. tangs, wrasse, blennie, flame angel and a dottyback. |

Reefhead~
Should I put all you suggested in my 20 gal. ref. and not worry about what spills in the main. I guess pods are going to be something I need not to worry about. |

Generally speaking, do we really want snails in a ref. or will they eat the critters? The purpose of my refuigum is to create a food source for the main. So I do want some caulerpa to trim and feed the tangs and the pods for whoever.
Thanks for the help so far!!! |

Just updating, the algae is slowly going away in both the ref. and the main tank. I still need to order a crew to do their thing, but I still need their hotline for advise - help anyone?

ive ordered from ipsf 4 times here are my reccomendations:
6 baby bristle worms wondermud 6 adult strombus grazers(reproduce like crazy in my tank) 6 micro hermits(if youre into hermits-these guys are tiny) amphipods live sand activator(contains more hermits/nerite snails/worms) supersize for 6 mama mia worms you still have three choices, but these are definite must haves imo hth ![]() |
