I have about a 4" derasa clam. He's on the substrate. When I first got him, he opened way up and his mantle spread out WELL past his shell. Lately he hasnt been expanding as much. I thouoght it may have been the snails on him. Well anyways...I was watching the tank a couple days ago and I noticed that my yellow tang would swim over the top of the clam which inturn would make the clam kinda draw in. The tang would hover a minute then take off back over to the other side of the tank. About 5 minutes later, as the clam was starting to expand back over it's shell, along comes the tang and the clam draws back in. This has been happening continusly!!!!! What should I do short of pulling out the tang? Would placing the clam up on the rocks be ok? Maybe the tang wouldnt bother it if it weren't on the sandbed. I really dont want to be w/o the clam or the tang. "cant we all just get along"!!!!! Any help would be greatly appriciated!
Dennis
