After seeing how many people keep anenomes, i want to take a crack at it, would i have enough lighting? currently 30gal with 2 96 watt (PC) and hopefully adding 1 more soon. is that not enough to keep one?

I have kept a bubble-tip anemone in my 25 gallon with 2X55 Power Compacts, one an 03 bulb and the other 10000k bulb. It's done well, but I moved it to my new 80 gallon and its also doing well there. I think Power Compacts are the minimum for an anemone. I have mine 8 inches down from water surface, with MH 250 watts at 8-9 inches above water. I would stick with bubble-tips (Entacmaea Quadricolour) because they are hardier than other species.

I keep a bublle tip as well under 4 110 watt VHO's, doing well and has grown quickly. I agree with the prior post, the bubble tips are the hardiest. I have lost long tentacled, sebae, etc. This is the only one who lived for me in my little slice of the ocean.

I agree with ELMO18, the E. Quads. are the hardiest and also a very nice addition to your tank and well accepted by quite a few different clownfish as a host anenome. Good luck, Skip
