Have just cycled a 120 tank with 150# live rock which was cured in the tank. Water parameters are ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, SG 1.025, temp 81-82 and pH 8.0- 8.2, KH 12.5, Ca 390. Dosing Bionic daily. I have lots of many types of algae, 2 snails that came with the rock and I can see some very small bug like creatures crawling all over the rock and sand, no fish, crabs or corals. I have ordered detrivore kits from both IPSF and Inland to arrive Friday. Noticed some posts on the rock crude from PA and thought I would order some of that as well. Have 4 bags of SD in and have ordered more to deepen the bed. Originally thought I would add live sand but sounds like that might not be the best idea. Do I need to add the SD sand slowly before the kits or can I put just put it in to finish the bed and then add the kits on top after acclimating?
