Storing Golden Pearls
Hi All,
For those of you who use Golden Pearls how do you store them? Do you keep them cold or just at room temperature. Does anyone know the shelf life of this food?? Thanks, CaptK |

CaptK, I store mine in the fridge, as far as shelf life, I do not think anyone has an exact date except that I like most others over purchased and believes this is one item that will outlast our lives. I would be curious if you find out the shelf life.

Golden pearls last approx. 6 months if kept refrigerated. Per the wholesaler you should never freeze them as they loose their potency.

Wow, that's funny, they told me to freeze em....Think I'll e-mail em again. I don't know about the 6 month thing. Even the smallest package would last me well over a year. I have read a lot of things about this stuff and this is the first time I have ever read it last only 6 months. I posted a thread a week ago about getting two 16oz packages and this being enough to last me until I'm dead, everybody else said the same thing.

IMo it may not be true but it's dried??? How much can it lo0se?? FWIW I make my own food and it is alot so I add it to the food also. IMO when you make your own food you have all different sizes. When you liquidfy it's probally as small as its gonna get and large chunks = food for every one. Anyway its cheaper and fresher. Brineshrimp has alot of good stuff if you make food by mixing it with fresh raw seafood.

Ok, I just got an e-mail from Deb at brineshrimp. Vic is right but she said 8 months (6 or 8 whos counting) It was somebody else who told me freezer. Deb avoided the freezer question twice.
I honestly think it will last for years. I know a 2oz package will last me a lot longer then their "said shelf life". I think they say 8 months just to sell more ![]() |
