Post Starfish problem

I have had a green starfish(not sure exact species) in my tank for about 3 months. When I first got it, it moved all over the tank - on the glass, sand rocks etc. About 2 weeks ago he moved into a cave in the back of the tank and would not come out. I finally got worried that he may be dead and moved the rocks and brought him out. He is alive but still not moving.
Is it dying? What can I do?

All starfishes are sensitive to abrubt ph changes and this can kill them. Green brittle stars can hide and thats not a big deal. Knobbt starfishes will eat corals and are not recomended for reefs IMO.

I dont really see a need to worry,

Worst Case Senerio: It's died it may crap up the water for a spell but normal water changes and time will fix that.

Best Case Senerio: He's just feeding on stuff inside the LR somewhere. He will come out later. I have a few things in my reef I only see once in several months.

As long as no corals arew being eaten, no ammonia/nitrite spike is present, why not just be patient and watch?
