Question Mantis Shrimp Removal Question

Hello,

I'm pretty certain there is a mantis shrimp inside my little tank. In a week or so I'm going to reaquascape the tank. I was wondering if doing a quick fresh water dip with the live rock would get him out, or if i should just visually inspect all the crevices with a flashlight and see if could get him out with tweezers?

Thanks,
Todd

I would dip the rock into water around 1.030 .That should get it out for you but will be alittle easier on the bacteria and other inhabitants.

Chromis, it should not take more than 5 minutes for the Mantis to come out of the rock. I have done this a few times to my own rock, usually within the first minute they will come right out of the rock.
