Feeding an Anemone

I have a bubble-tipped anemone that I've been trying to feed. I've noticed that it doesn't hold the food for long (maybe 30 minutes max). Anyone have any tips on feeding it or what to feed it? I've been feeding it pieces of shrimp and mussels and sometimes brine shrimp. Thanks!

Mine does that if the chunks are too huge.
Try breaking them up. I also give it pieces of formula one and krill.

Do you feed them the formula one flakes by siphoning them up and then giving it to the the anemone? That's what I've been doing with the brine shrimp, but I've never waited around long enough to see if it ingests it.

As for the Formula One, I don't give flakes. I have the
frozen Formula One Cube shaped. I'll cut a piece of the cube off,
about 1/8th(really thin slice) of it and let it sit in some water. It's still a solid piece, so it's easy to feed. I'll use tweazers to feed.

I then lay that onto the anemone and wiggle it around to induce the
tentacles to curl around it.

Otherwise, during feeding time, my Gold Stripe Maroon will take a
piece of shrimp or krill to it.

I have a H. crispa that I also feed Formula1&2. I use small pieces about the size of a pencil eraser. I have to feed mine about 1 hour after the lights go out so the clowns don't steal all the food .

HTH,
Kevin

I feed my BTA 2 times a week with whole shrimp. I cut the shrimp into pieces about the size of my pinky finger tip and just place it near the middle in the tenticals and it is gone in minutes. I use to feed it frozen krill till I started making my own fish food and getting fresh whole shrimps. My BTA wont even touch krill now that it is spoiled on fresh shrimp.
