Tropicorium Trip!!!!!
Went to my favorite place on earth yesterday, The tropicorium. Picked up some great stuff too. My wife has always wanted a mushroom polyp for her tank. We were able to get this nice metallic green pinsrtiped polyp along with a sweet piece of ricordia rock. The ricordia is green with purple edges has like 10 polyps on the rock. They had this awsome orange ricordia too but it was 35-40 dollars a polyp so maybe next week. Also picked up a frag of something they called plate coral along with a nice cream steriatopora. A 140.00 mini vacation yesterday. Well, "it's only money" I think it was worth it. My wife was like a child with all those fabulous thing to choose from. Will post pics after christmas. Had to share. I will let you all know how next weeks "vacation" goes. Merry christmas friends.

Sounds pretty cool.
I just picked up a purple colt and a nice toad stool and a yellow poly rock the other day. |

Nice to see another failry flow Michigander that shopw at the local fish shop like Tropicorium. Thats funny I was also there last weekend but I only picked up 3 pepermint shrimps and wanted to buy a clam or two but they were all out of the small purple M. clams. I am going to try and pick them up this weekend. Sounds like you got some nice pieces and you cant go wrong with making a purchase from Trop..... they have some pretty nice stuff.. cant wait to see your new additions to your tank....

Yes very small world. It's great to hear that there are other locals that are just as nuts as I am with reef tanks...Yes SC college very close to my home.

reef120- I know what you mean about being nuts about this hobby... I think I am a bit obsessed! actually I know I'm obsessed. My tank is the first thing I look at when I get home. I even have my girlfriend trained to do the same thing!
anyway, nice talking to you. Maybe we can get together sometime and talk reefs! I'm still trying to get over to the Tropicorium to check it out one of these days.

I am on my way there today after work. Going to try to pick up some sweet clams if they were able to get any in. I got a small purple one from them close to a month ago. The stuff I have gotten from them is growing well. I will post some pics in 5 days hopefully. We will all have to meet there sometime and chew the fat about reefs. Merry Christmas guys.

Man an I hooked.... I had an appointment at the Trop....yesterday at 4:00 and I picked up two beautiful clams... I purchased one 1 1/4" T.maxima baby clam (purple) very nice and a squashmosa 3 1/4 clam. Im pretty excited of my new addition I now am up to 3 clams. I will have pictures of the new clams in a few day.

You can make appointments on days other than fri,sat,sun? If that is the case than i am doing that from now on. What did you have to do to get an appointment? I also picked up a green T. maxima today. Got a rock of mushrooms for my wife and some orange ricordea. I got a Large frag of blue staghorn acro. The frag is like 12 inches tall!!!!!!! He said they sold most of these frags this week. BTW, do you know of any store that sells the two part epoxy for mounting larger pieces to the aquascape? Tropicorium bound next weekend!!!!!!!!! What happen was I was there the Saturday before and they ran out of the clams and I had asked when they were getting some in and they told me Thursday. I know everyone in that place so they let me come in and pick one up early that week, normally it's just resellers only. WOW 12" frag that's awesome..... You will have to post pics. I dont know were you can get poxy I usually just use super glue and it works great for me..

The tang will be moving to a new home. The 120 gallon, the sump will be ready in a week as it is a custom job!!!!! Will get a full tank picture up in the morning.
