Hello fellow reefers,
I have a question about the seatest calcium test kit. I have had this kit for awhile but never used it. I want to try it cause I think my other kit is inaccurate(red sea). The kit consists of: 1 large plastic tube, 1 small plastic tube, 1 3 cc monoject syringe 1 calcium reagent part 1 1 calcium granular reagent part 2 1 calcium titrant liquid reagent part 3 the directions say to fill the small tube to the top and add it to the large tube. Then it says to measure the liquid calcium reagent part 1 to the scored mark on dropper. I think maybe they gave me the wrong dropper. It isn't a dropper at all. Its a syringe like they use in the hospital. It has 1/10 cc increments all the way to 3 cc's, and the end is threaded, like for a needle or something. The increments are molded into the body of the syringe and painted black, any one of the increments can be the "score" marks. They didn't bother saying how much (in cc's) to add. It just says to add this "known amount" to the viewing tube. Can anyone set me straight here? I am totally confused. How can you get an accurate test when you don't know how much reagent to add? Thank you for the help, Ron |

the dropper should be the cap of part #1. If you have a cap instead of a dropper for part #1 then use the syringe and make it 2 ml. Drop that in the larger container and add the enelope. add part 3 drop by drop until color changes to a bluish hue.

i have the same kit and i have never used the syringe. its there just to take water from you tank i believe? alls you do is fill the little vial, pour it into the bigger one. then just sqeeze the regent1 into its provided dropper untill it reaches the line scored onto it. then add the powder and then the drops. the syringe is just there incase you need it.
