Question SPS Fraggin... Break or Snip?

And that is the question basically...I would think that breaking with a small pair of clean needle nose pliers would be just as effecient. I do have an Acro (humulis i think) that is pretty FAT and short about the only way I see fragging from this colony is to chisel some of the rock that it is encrusting on.

if its a hard to get to branch id say use some small needle nose pliers or snips.. ive used both. you could practice on that montipora cap with the purple edge... ive been looking for that coral for like a year now...

I use a large pair of wire cutters to cut the really fat acros. A smaller pair will work on most all the others. The fat sps are usually extremely solid and very hard to cut so get a second person to hold the colony so you can use two hands on the pliers.

I use these cutters which will cut through up tp 1" staghorns. They are very sharp and cause very little damage to the polyps making a very clean cut.
