Id?

In my 20 gallon FOWLR on one of the rocks theres this small thing that comes out of a tube it has many small tentalics it has white with black strips and black little dots at the tips. It also very fast if you virbrate the tank "open shut the hood" any of the fish get near it or anything it retreats back into its tube it has grown but is still very small.I don't know how else I could describe it. I wish I had a camera but can anyone guess or include pics of what it might be.

Thanks,
Nycro

Well I think the most obvious guess would be to say it's some type of tube worm such as a feather duster. What is the shape when it's open? does it look like a christmas tree? or does it look more like a fan? either way, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It sounds like maybe it's some type of tube anemone. Check out this website: http://www.oceanlight.com/html/anemones.html

or just do some searches on tube anemones and hopefully you will find some pictures of it.
