well this was available and I buy frags most of the time. So let's not be self rightous here and say "TRY FRAGS" like a three year old. I am insulted by this comment. And we wonder what is happening to our natural reefs. It is because of places like the tropicorium who helped pave the way to captive propogation that pressure on the natural reefs to supply livestock is easing a little. Where do you think frags come from anyway? Oh hold on a minute....... I think I see some frags

mrok,
nice buy. ![]() my tank too is mostly stocked with frags, but if i come across a nice wild specimen, i will buy it. if stores never brought in some wild colonies, and all people could buy are frags, then there would be no diversity. and there would be no way hobbyists could help certain strains, species survive at the hobbyist, aquarium level. anyhow, thats a nice piece. and since its so big already i'm sure as it grows you would be fragging it, and sharing it with other hobbyists. i know that if i lived by you i'd be knockin on your door ![]() |

I think next week when I return to the tropicorium I will take some pictures to post. I don't think most people have any idea how huge this place is...

That is an awesome piece IT'S HUGE..... If you dont mind what did Ray charge you for something that big? Do they have any more pieces left? I agree with you I dont think people realize just how big Tropicorium really is. God it's great having a place like that locally I was there a couple of weeks ago and picked up two beautiful clams. Hey if you feel bad about people thinking you bought a colony instead of a frag I can always place that show peice in my tank. HEHEHE (=:

Ray charged me 55.00 for the whole colony. They had two more but he was getting ready to frag them. You know what he charges for frags. 20-40 dollars depending but I support this because I beleive in what they are doing. I go with my wife all the time. maybe I will see you there sometime. We got to get bongobrian there too.
Thanks again, MROK12 (Mike) |

Whoa easy there tendar :)
Hey look at it this way....the whole colony stays intact so less chance of stress, thus all of it has better chance to live! Most of us dont have the luxury to buy a colony like that
95% of my corals started out as a frag.....and just a couple of weeks ago I paid 65bux for a small colony (not near as big as that monti) of a Bali Slimer (its a beauty) and I do not regret it one bit, cuz I know I will take care of it!! and im sure it will eventually be fragged out and multiply to others tanks! You want to help save the reefs? Start making your own LR! That will really help! Great looking colony mrok!

Thank you. I buy almost all frags. I drove 160 mile because I knew of a place that delt in O.R.A. clownfish. I am doing what I think is right znd morale. I will not buy anything from stores that are only in to sell something to you. If I see fish that look real stressed or that I feal should not be there like obligate cleaner wrasses I never go back. I buy from reputable people who care and are not just in it for the money.

Reef120
Maybe we could all meet up there ( at the tropicorium) I, like you can never leave empty handed instead I leave with an empty wallet. The killer is I still have a 120 to stock, my god what have I done? I do however have a calcium reactor for that tank. A dual stage from my reef. Things should grow faster. BTW do you have any plating purple or blue montipora? I have been trying to find a frag of that forever. See ya
