Hey everyone.....been a while since i checked in.....i'm back at school from my xmas break. while at home i lured TRE (The Reefland Eel) ,which some people participated in purchasing, out of his caves with a nice chunk of clam/krill. i estimate his length to be around 14inches maybe more. so i'm upgrading in my next visit home. however the live rock has got to go. its still infested w/ aptasia and being at school i cannot keep up with the continuous task of injection/decapitation etc....so i've decided to get the 55g up and running for a while: seed the sb(hopefully around 4in.) and let it sit for about 2 weeks and in the meen time get a hold of a decent amount of rock for the tank for him to hide in when he is in. as for the amt. of life which is in the existing rock i plan to do all that is w/in my power to extract as many pods/worms/etc...from it and keep it in my tank. i still see a large population of pods and worms in my already existing tank which has an eel, a large cin. clown and a fairly big damsel(yellow tailed). not to mention my cucumber, 2pep shrimp, brittle star. i also still see many mini stars in my sand. the straw that broke the camels back was when i returned to find my xenia completely engulfed in that weed. the xenia is all but gone. coraline algae is abundant in the existing tank as well so i think ive got the right system working. just need to rid myself of the weed. and good news my brother bought a digicam so when i make the switch im gonna have him come and take a few pics and when i get'em you shall see my pride and joy. hope all is well here, i'll try and be more frequent here but i got a rough semester on tap. i only have 4 classes but...i've got 23 books so ......here we go again.
Jon
