I'm not going to use the term "Reef-Safe" because the meaning has been gutted... ususally by LFS "experts" who want to sell you an arrow crab

What do you think he's been eating since you've gotten him? A lot of brittle stars are scavangers and most won't mess with the corals. Usually folks worry about them preying on the fish.
If he isn't too big, yet. He might be OK. JMO.
