Foster & Smith's Live Aquaria...Great Product and Service!
I believe in complaining when I get poor service, and I also need to applaud great service too.
I ordered a Blue Linckia Starfish (a notoriously delicate shipper) and 3 Peppermint Shrimp from the new Foster and Smith's Live Aquaria web site (the former Pet Warehouse.) They were shipped from California yesterday, and 20 hours later they are living happily and vigorously in my tank way up here in the Hinterlands, (-10 degrees F.) A customer rep called me last night to tell me of the arrival time today. I am extremely happy with the service and products from these guys. Here is a pic of the star crawling over the LR. |

Looks good.
There has been some on RC that have been very unhappy with their drygoods service, glad to see the livestock end is comendable.

NOT so pleased about change...
FWIW I was a pretty regular drygoods customer at Pet Warehouse for about a year and a half, prices are about as good as anyone else and service was always prompt. Not true anymore, since the switch to "Fosters and Smith" (or whatever), I have noticed a marked decline in service. My last order took over two weeks to arrive (normally a few days) and was short one key item. They had to know the item was out of stock when they took the order, yet they were pretty prompt about billing my credit card. Two days after the partial order arrived I get letter telling about the shortage and promising to credit my card. Maybe a fluke, I don't know, but with so many choices I won't be ordering from them anymore. No experience with the livestock end though.

I needed to respond to this one.
I have been ordering dry goods from Pet Warehouse for over three years and no problem. Their technical servide was great when I had questions about medicines or equipment. I have to say that the new owners need help in that department as well shipping. I used to get a confimation e-mail and the tracking number from Pet Warehouse. Worked great. The stuff was always here 3-4 days later Now I get the e-mail but no tracking number and the stuff takes more than a week to get here. Twice as long. Well, I know what it takes to get things going after an aquisition, since I am going through one right now. I am going to give these guys a chance, but they need to get their act together. They need to be where Pet Warehouse was, especially since their customers like me are used to that type of service. They better not raise prices. |
