I have two hagen 802 pwer heards and they are killers! Chocolate starfish, niger trigger(today) and several hermits have gotten sucked into these things. Is there a cone or something I can buy, or am I going to have to make something? Thanks, Phil

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a blue tang in a powersweep 212. I'm not sure if there is a cone but you should be able to make something pretty easily.

Shoeman, sorry about your loss, but if you're trying to set up a reef tank neither the trigger nor the chocolate chip starfish are reef-safe.

I realize that, but I have always had great success by bucking the trends in livestock compatibility. I have a very agressive Atlantic toadfish who never bothers a soul.

My hagen 802 powerheads came with a little cone thing. Check the boxes it should be in the bag with the suction cups etc.

Shoeman, I had a look at your tank pics, I have a purple tip Sebea Anemone as well. It looks like you have more than one. Mine didn't really seem healthy until I got this horrendous diatom algea bloom which lasted for weeks. The Anemone's tentacles went from creamy white to a brownish color, since then it has been thriving (a little too much since it scarfed my friggen cleaner shrimp).
What else did you have in your tank (non fish) with the trigger? Any polyps or mushrooms? |

There is an attachment that is for sale that converts powerheads into quick filters (goes for about 6 bucks). This may help prevent your livestock from getting sucked in!
