My Powerheads Put Bubbles In My Tank
I have 4 Aqua Clear Powerheads and have finally tracked my bubbles to them. I can actually see these little bursts of bubbles coming from them. Do all powerheads do this?

A couple things to check would be :
Many powerheads have a fitting ontop to hook up airline to . Make sure that this is not so near the top it can suck air if the surface ripples. The other thing is to check for obstructions (snails, algae) in the pickup of the ph . If it can not pull water freely it will cavitate inside the housing and generate bubbles. HTH. |

Most powerheads create some bubbles. My Hagens are very bad about it. It's caused by cavatation of the impeller. Sometimes you can put fittings over the outlet to create a very slight amount of back-pressure--this may help a little.

Some powerheads will retain air pockets in the impeller housing. Turn on the PH and rotate it in all directions to clear that air out. Once the air is out, there should be no air source unless they are too close to the surface as mentioned above.
