Hi, I have a hitch hiker feather duster worm growing on the substrate (crushed coral). the crown portion is about 1.5" in diameter. the tube is about 1" above the substrate. How do I move it to another tank?
thanks, Jason

It would be a lot of work IMO but I would turn off all the PH's and pumps if all possible and then get a large spoon/cup depending on how big it is and scoop as much of the substrate as possible as well as the feather just know where and when to move it, you are naturally gonna put the feather at risk as well as other life, but it can be done im sure.

It is easily done by gently uncovering the tube and pick it up place a bowl under the water and then put the tube worm in the bowl. Remove the bowl and then submerge it in the new tank before removing the worm. If you want the worm back in the substrate of the new tank just dig a shallow hole and bury the worm with just the last 1/4" sticking out. If you place it below the location you plan to feed your fish it will be fed what the fish miss and grow or multipy quickly.
HTH, Kevin
