Talking oh happy day!

Yesterday I came home from work, and as usual, I went right to my tank to have a look at it. I saw something so cool I had to say "NO WAY!" and almost messed myself lol. My maroon clown has finally taken residence in the bubble tip anemone!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!! I was soooo geeked. Most of you are probably saying "well... big deal" but I've just been waiting for this to happen for about 7 months now. I just wanted to share the good news with those who read my other post about the clown and anemone. Also, here is what may be a useful tip to anyone trying to get something to host a clown: a couple of days ago I moved the anemone (I know you're not supposed to do this but the bta was right on top of my overflow box) to a spot near the bottom of the tank. This spot was also right in the middle of the clown's territory. Before now, the anemone has always been out of his territory. Anyway, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I think it kinda makes reef-keeping common sense. Once the anemone was in the clown's territory, the clown practically jumped right in! perhaps the host needs to be in the clown's territory in order for the clown to take to it. I dunno.. just a thought. My tank is going to be much more exciting to look at from now on!.

Thanks scuba!

too true about the pic brotha... I'm gonna try and borrow a dig cam from one of my compadres. Hopefully I'll have some pics of my tank very soon.

I've always felt kinda funny about having a maroon clown and a bta that didn't interact with one another. All I can say is FINALLY!!!!

I think you are right about the territorial nature of the Clownfish. I have an Oscellaris which lives in a Green Open Brain, and one day when I moved the GOB two inches to the left, the clown stopped living in it until I moved it back. Two lousy inches, and the clown just hovered over where the GOB used to be
