I know its weird how coralline grows in sometimes the least expected place. I have been doing some experiments w/my LR that I made and from what I have seen is that current plays a bigger role in it then light....I have rocks that are up near the top of my lights and rocks on the bottom of my tank the onces on the bottom of my tank are actually getting more coralline than the ones near the top....Go figure.

Super intense light seems to stunt corralin growth. I find mine grows in areas of lesser light and always plastics first.
If it grows at all in your tank, be happy. Its when its not growing you gotta figure out why ![]() HTH j

Could be a spectrum thing too. For example, in one tank my lamps are shot, MH and VHO over a year old. Corraline turning green and white in areas of intense light but still growing in sump! (no lights). I dunno, just a thought.
