They are located in hawaii and i am pretty sure they supply to canada also.....For other stuff...check out ffexpress............

Hi Venaman,

Sorry, but I don't know of any U.S. vendors willing to ship livestock to Canada because of the cost of compliance with Customs and CITES and potential delays. IPSF and Inland Aquatics are two suppliers of detrivore kits down here but they don't ship to Canada.

Here are a few Canadian suppliers. See if they have what you are looking for:

http://www.seacare.org/index.html

http://www.aquariumpros.ca/

http://www.saltwaterconnection.com/

http://www.jlaquatics.com/

Good luck,

Ninong

A detrivore is an animal that eats detritus: amphipods, copepods, spaghetti worms, bristleworms, mini stars, regular stars, etc.

Have you asked on any of the Canadian boards? Are you registered on any Canadian board? www.canreef.com

I don't know what is available up there. Maybe one of our Canadian members will see this thread and help you out. One of the moderators of that Canadian board is a member here, too.

In general, you are interested in having a diverse population of sand bed infauna to support a healthy deep sand bed. As far as snails, maybe hermit crabs, mini stars and possibly one of the detritus and film algae eating stars (Linckia and Fromia spp.) are concerned, you want to add them gradually as your tank is ready for them.

Hopefully one of our Canadian members will help you out here... I sent out an e-mail asking for advice.

and than i can gradually build a diverse quanitity of sand sifters right?
