More Hi-Q Coolpix
Hi all,
Just updated my site with a few more select images including some nice macros. http://reef.esmartweb.com/ Here is a pink echinopora I picked up recently. It was a drab coloration when I first got it: ![]()

Hi Scuba,
Thanks but you're also not alone. I think many of us are on the net when we're not tending/looking at the tank right? No wonder our other halfs get irritated sometimes.Anyhow, Charles Devito corrected me on the ID. It is an echinophyllia rather than an echinopora. The echinopora species tend to be more like plating montiporas whereas this coral is more fleshy and has very large polyps. Charles also said he came upon one of these as well that colored up just like it so if you see a drab looking coral like this at the LFS you might want to pick it up.

Wow! Great looking pics John. I see that I left my babies in good hands (never thought differently
).Its gonna be fun "halfing" them once I am able to set up a tank. Man, been about 6 months?.....seems an eternity! My lease on this silly apartment is up in another month. Then I move into the house, and the fun starts! Keep it up buddy! -Perry |

Hey Perry,
Your corals miss you man. Some have done really well, some are just as they were when you left them (well sort of) and a couple I lost to isolated cases of RTN. Your large capricornis - something keeps "hoisting sand" into the leafs so it has had it's problems. I can't figure what is doing that.

Amazing pictures. What CoolPix do you have? Did you use any special lenses, filters, lights, etc?

Reinhold, it's a Nikon 950 with no special lens or filters. Perry, you're right. I'm seesawing between 800 or 640 resolution. I also would like to compress the images more but don't want to sacrifice image quality.
